This quilt is the second piece in my “Crime Scene” series and depicts a large blood stain on a bed
mattress which has been cut out and removed from the mattress, and admitted into evidence as,
“Exhibit #24”.
Inspired by Module 5 (Small Studies & Working in a Series) in Heidi Parkes' first ever year-long
Quiltmaking with Heidi Parkes class. Also inspired by memories of my mom, true crime genre, the
families and victims of domestic abuse and murder.
**DISCLAIMER**
The pieces included in this collection do not contain blood, and are not based on any specific
crime scene, but are created intuitively by the artist using fabric, natural dyes and ink.
